Chapter 5
Performance Management
This chapter discusses how RADview monitors the performance of the LRS-24
system and modems.
Performance monitoring includes the following tasks:
• System performance monitoring
Polling the agent, manual polling
Periodic polling
• Modem performance monitoring
Viewing and running modem diagnostics tests
Viewing interval, line, and interface performance statistics
Resetting statistics.
5.1 Monitoring System Performance (Diagnostics)
RADview/TDM LRS-24 enables you to perform system diagnostics including:
• Polling the agent
• Manual polling
• Setting periodic polling.
Polling the Agent
Polling the agent updates the card status. You can execute either manual or
automatic polling of the LRS-24 system.
Polling Manually
You can execute manual (immediate) polling using the Poll Agent command,
which immediately triggers an agent to update the card status.
Note that if you have selected to perform periodic polling of the agent (see
Setting Automatic Periodic Polling
), the (manual) Poll Agent command is disabled.
To manually poll and update the card status:
• In the LRS-24 View window, from the Configuration menu, select Poll Agent.
The card status is updated immediately.
