1. Set AIS Enable jumper to ON for the near-end master modem.

2. Disconnect the IN electrical wire in the far-end modem to turn on the LEDs:

 ELECTRICAL LOW in far-end modem

 OPTICAL AIS in near-end modem

3. Disconnect the IN Optic wire in the near-end master modem, starting with

initial state (jumper ON).

This will turn the OPTICAL LOW LED ON in the near-end modem.

4. Disconnect both electrical wires of the far-end modem, starting with initial

state (jumper ON).

5. Connect a ‘Loop’ between the IN-OUT electrical entries of the near-end

modem.

This will turn ON the LEDs:

 ELECTRICAL LOW in far-end modem

 OPTICAL AIS and ELECTRICAL AIS in near-end modem.
